A teaser video was also shown, featuring voice lines from characters Arima Kana, Kurokawa Akane and Hoshino Aqua. Readers of the manga might be able to point out which arcs the second season are covering just through these lines.

Fans can still buy the tickets to rewatch the archived stream here until 10 December 2023.

The 11-episode first season of Oshi no Ko aired in Japan on 12 April 2023, with a 90-minute first episode. Directed by Hiramaki Daisuke (Selection Project) and Nekotomi Chao (Love is Like a Cocktail), with Tanaka Jin (The Misfit of Demon King Academy) scripting the series and Hirayama Kanna (Rent-A-Girlfriend) in-charge of the character designs. The opening song “Idol” was composed by YOASOBI, who will be hosting a live concert in Singapore next January.

HIDIVE streamed the series concurrently with Japan’s airing, and reported that the first episode was the service’s “#1 series launch in the streamer’s history.”

Written by Akasaka Aka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Yokoyari Mengo (Scum’s Wish), the Oshi no Ko manga was first published in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump in April 2020, with an English translation published in Shueisha’s MANGA Plus service. It was nominated for the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize and the 46th Kodansha Manga Award in 2022. Since November 2023, the series has had thirteen volumes published and over 15 million copies in circulation.
