The Nothing Phone (1) was a sleek, great-looking device that turned heads with its unique glyph interface, so it’s unsurprising that its successor retained the same look. But the Nothing Phone (2) doesn’t just look better — it packs more of a punch, too, sporting a handful of hardware and software updates.
Gaming is one of the areas that has benefitted from the upgrade. Armed with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and an Adreno 730 GPU, the company’s latest offering combines style with performance to bring a surprise edge to Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Call of Duty: Mobile, and PUBG Mobile.
The magic starts from its glyph interface, which lights up when synced with the phone’s volume level. In-game, the improved configuration translates to a stutter-free experience, with the Nothing Phone (2) holding particularly well against the rigours of Genshin Impact despite some drastic frame rate drops. As a whole, it handled all the titles with impressive proficiency, clocking a high of 34 to 39 degrees.
More notably is its cooling efficiency, especially for a non-gaming phone. Even as it heats up, the device is able to cool off very quickly, which makes on-the-go gaming an enjoyable affair. The Nothing Phone (2) will be available in two configurations: 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB + 512GB, priced at S$999 and S$1,099 respectively.
