Nintendo Switch 2 Set For July To Sept 2025 Launch In Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand & Philippines

Nintendo fans can start saving up now, for the Nintendo Switch 2 will be launching on 5 June 2025 in the US, Europe, South Korea, Hong Kong and Japan and retailing for US$449.99 (in the US). As for the retail price for the console in Japan, we will touch more on that further down. More importantly for fans in Southeast Asia, it will be launching in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines and Taiwan from July to September 2025. No local prices were announced during reporting, apart from the announcement on Nintendo Singapore’s website.

For the full lowdown on the games and accessories coming alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 launch, check out our comprehensive coverage from last night’s Nintendo Direct hour-long presentation.

Another piece of good news is that Nintendo is finally working to launch Nintendo Switch Online in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines. More details, including the launch timing, will be announced at a later date, according to Nintendo. Users in the 4 regions have had to create US or Hong Kong Nintendo accounts in order to use the Nintendo eShop and online services all these years, so it’s great that it will finally be coming. Lets just hope there will be a way to migrate current Nintendo accounts across when that time comes.

Another interesting thing to know before you pre-order your console, or if you are planning to buy the console in Japan this June, read on. Retailers in Japan will be selling a Nintendo Switch 2 Japanese-Language System (Japan Only) priced at 49,980 yen (US$340), designed only for use in Japan. Only Nintendo Accounts with the country/region set to Japan can be used with this system. The Nintendo Switch 2 Multi-Language System, priced at 69,980 yen (US$474) will only be available on the My Nintendo Store.

Local prices and pre-order details will be updated here once we receive more information from Nintendo. In the meantime, catch the full presentation below:
