For the longest time Star Wars fans have grown accustomed to lightsabers appearing in the form of a florescent tube attached to a hilt.
On May the 4th 2021, of all days, we finally get a glimpse of what the “real” lightsabers actually looks like. We’ve heard of it in theory, but seeing it in action is a whole new level.
Making it’s debut as part of a promo for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at Walt Disney World Resort, we see a talent dressed as Rey igniting the hilt.
The way the lightsaber’s beam extends out does have a slight delay but it’s still a sight to behold.
At the same time, Disney is announcing the launch of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser which is a two-night, immersive vacation experience where fans can board a starcruiser and be part of the Star Wars universe.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at Walt Disney World Resort opens in 2022. And we do hope COVID might be resolved by then.
Gerald currently straddles between his love of video games and board gaming. There’s nothing that interests him more than trying out the newest and fanciest gadget in town as well. He dreams of publishing a board game sometime in the future!
