With Black Adam just a few weeks away, Warner Bros and star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson have released a new trailer and boy, does it reveal a lot.
The second trailer sees the antihero unleash destruction as well as the arrival of the Justice Society, whom he is later seen going up against when they ask for his peaceful surrender.
“I’m not peaceful,” he says. “Nor do I surrender.”
Earlier trailers and clips have shown a glimpse of Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, but the new trailer gives viewers more than a glimpse.
The trailer also revealed that Amanda Waller is back. Viola Davis’ character from The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker is confirmed to appear in this movie and is seemingly in direct communication with the Justice Society – offering guidance as it assembles to bring Black Adam to justice.
The film’s official synopsis notes, “In ancient Kahndaq, Teth Adam was bestowed the almighty powers of the gods. After using these powers for vengeance, he was imprisoned, becoming Black Adam. Nearly 5,000 years have passed and Black Adam has gone from man, to myth, to legend. Now released, his unique form of justice, born out of rage, is challenged by modern day heroes who form the Justice Society: Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher and Cyclone.”
Black Adam is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, and stars Dwayne Johnson, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Mo Amer, Bodhi Sabongui, and Pierce Brosnan.
Black Adam will be in theatres on 21 October.
