Netflix’s Castlevania Gets A Third Season!

To no one’s surprise, the success of the Castlevania adaptation on Netflix by producer Adi Shankar and writer Warren Ellis will be continuing for a third season. The renewal comes only a few days after the second season debut.

Jumping from 4 episodes to 8 this season, the third season will be extended to 10 episodes that will likely see the trio of Trevor Belmont, Sypha, and Alucard continue.

No story details have been revealed yet, but it is safe to say that the action, character exploration, and gore will remain. It will once again be written by Warren Ellis, directed by Sam Deats, and produced by Adi Shankar, Fred Seibert and Kevin Kolde.

“As much as this show is Castlevania it’s not a tie-in to a video game. This is our own interpretation of Castlevania, call it the Castlevania Cinematic Universe, characters may pop up a little differently, they might pop up exactly the same. Events may play out exactly the same, things may cause them to deviate. The big thing going into this show is there’s a master plan to the narrative we’re devising.”

Shankar is also rumoured to be taking on Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda for another adaptation.
