Netflix’s ‘Resident Evil’ Latest Trailer Packs More Bite, Blood & Gore

If you are a fan of Resident Evil, it has been a few good weeks. The confirmation of Resident Evil 4 Remake on the video games side of things made many excited, and for those that prefer to take a backseat to control, there is also the Netflix Resident Evil series. Following earlier teases, we finally get a lengthy trailer out of Netflix’s Geeked Week, and it’s definitely looking more promising.

We see the Wesker sisters, Jade and Billie, in events that take place both before and after the onslaught of the undead. Of course, when you find yourself in New Raccoon City while the Umbrella Corporation is still active, things will never go well.

Cue the screams and horror, as all manners of monstrosities come hunting for human blood. We see plenty of zombies, spiders, Lickers, and even a creation that looks tantalisingly like a Tyrant. Lance Reddick’s Albert Wesker is also present and counted for, and it remains to be seen just how the series explains his presence in the events of Resident Evil on Netflix. After all, Albert Wesker has been a victim of rocket launchers and volcanic lava, but that is never enough apparently.

Depending on your preference, you either fall on the side of retaining gaming canon, or the more loose adaptations provided by the Milla Jovovich-led movies. Either way, this new series seems to contain both drama as well as the ridiculousness that many have come to expect from Resident Evil, so we are good on those fronts.

The Resident Evil series will debut on Netflix this coming 14 July.
