‘My Hero Academia’ Manga To End Aug 2024 After 10-Year Run

After 10 years of Quirk action, villain fights, and epic heroics, popular shōnen manga My Hero Academia is drawing to an end. Series creator Kohei Horikoshi has announced that the superhero adventure will conclude on 5 August, with the final chapter published in Weekly Shōnen Jump’s combined 36th and 37th issue.

The update comes after the manga’s two-week hiatus, revealing that only five chapters are left. “The manga is five chapters away from its end,” said Horikoshi on X/Twitter, who also apologised for the short break in schedule. “Some might think, “there are still five more chapters!?’, while others may think, “there are only five more chapters left!?’ But I will try my best to ensure both audiences enjoy this last stretch with Deku and the gang.

“The journey hasn’t been all smooth-sailing, but I was able to draw Deku and his friends for almost 10 years due to everyone who continued to read. It was a dream, so thank you so much [for all your support]! Let’s meet again in Jump!”

The manga is set to return on 1 July, releasing weekly before wrapping things up in Chapter 430. Featuring a class of superheroes in training at the prestigious U.A. High, My Hero Academia was first serialised in Weekly Shōnen Jump in July 2014. It has become one of the biggest works of the modern age, surpassing 100 million circulated copies worldwide earlier in April.

My Hero Academia Manga August 2024

The series is currently in its seventh anime season, which debuted on 4 May. The most recent 146th episode takes after Chapter 351 of the manga, leaving around 80 more chapters to adapt. It will conclude just days after the debut of the fourth feature film, My Hero Academia: You’re Next, in Japan on 2 August.

The manga’s influence has even reached Hollywood, with a live-action production “actively” underway at Netflix. The outing is just one of the projects under its umbrella, which also includes video games, a card game, and more.
