Monica Bellucci is joining the cast of Beetlejuice 2!
The The Matrix actress is the latest star to board the long-awaited sequel and will be playing Beetlejuice’s wife. Michael Keaton will be reprising his role as the obnoxious and devious ghost.
Jenna Ortega of Wednesday fame will play the daughter of Lydia Deetz, who will be played once more by Winona Ryder. Catherine O’Hara is also set to return for the sequel. Justin Theroux is a new addition.
Cameras will start rolling later this month, with Tim Burton back in the director’s chair. Warner Bros. is aiming for a pre-Halloween release date in September 2024.
Plot details are still kept under wraps but with productions starting, fans can expect more information to come out of the coffin.
The original Beetlejuice saw the titular character attempt to scare away a family from a home as per request of the original deceased owners.
