Michael B. Jordan Returns To Star In And Direct ‘Creed 4’

Following the remarkable success of Creed III, which grossed US$275 million worldwide, Michael B. Jordan is set to return as the director for the highly anticipated Creed IV.

This news, eagerly received by fans, underscores Michael B. Jordan’s rising stature not only as a leading actor but also as a formidable force behind the camera. The confirmation of Jordan’s involvement in the next chapter of the Creed saga was revealed by Irwin Winkler, the seasoned producer behind the iconic Rocky series.

Although Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) has not officially confirmed Jordan’s role as director for the upcoming installment, Winkler’s statements in a series of video clips shared by Deadline strongly indicate his return. When pressed about Jordan’s interest in directing Creed 4, Winkler responded affirmatively, praising Jordan’s adeptness with the camera and his impressive directorial debut.

“We are planning to do Creed IV right now,” he announced. “We have a really good story [and] a really good plot. We got a little delayed because of the strikes, but about a year from now we’re going into pre-production.”

“Michael and the creative team had the beautiful vision from the start to create a wholly new and different experience for this movie,” he said. “It had to have great action, boxing, but we also really examined what kind of movie we were making.”

The development of Creed 4 has been somewhat prolonged, in part due to the recent actors’ strike. This delay, however, doesn’t necessarily mean it will be Jordan’s immediate next project. Alongside his directorial pursuits, Jordan is currently involved in several high-profile acting projects, including starring roles in an upcoming sequel to I Am Legend alongside Will Smith and in Chad Stahelski’s adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six.

In addition to his expanding on-screen presence, Jordan is also exploring opportunities to broaden the Creed universe. Jordan and Amazon are engaged in discussions about developing additional film and television projects related to the Creed storyline. This potential expansion points to a deepening of the narrative universe, offering an opportunity to explore new stories and characters connected to the celebrated boxing saga.
