‘Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’ Gets Update With New Game Plus, New Suits, And More

A big update is swinging into Insomanic Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 soon, giving players the perfect excuse to go for another spin with Peter Parker and Miles Morales. It’s slated for release on 7 March, and will include the highly-anticipated New Game+ mode, some new suits for both Spideys, and more “highly requested features.”

The announcement comes after confirmation of a New Game Plus mode prior to the game’s launch in October last year. It was originally planned for release in 2023, but had to be delayed as the studio needed more testing to “ensure the quality is up to [Insomniac’s] standards”.

It’s unclear what the new suits and forthcoming features will entail, with the complete list of additions dropping closer to the release of the patch. However, it’s likely to include “the ability to change the time of day, swap tendril colors, and replay missions,” as previously teased by the team.

Community manager Aaron Jason Espinoza also wrote that the update will have “some pretty cool stuff” and addresses “some big requests from the community,” which should excite, or at least intrigue players.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 proved to be a hit for Sony and Insomniac, surpassing five million copies in the first three weeks of release and becoming the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game ever. More notably, the world of Marvel’s Spider-Man will return to Insomniac’s upcoming project Marvel’s Wolverine, with creative director Bryan Intihar confirming the Earth-1048 setting for both.
