Spider-Man is web-swinging his way to PC once again. Insomniac Game’s 2023 sequel Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 marks the latest PlayStation Exclusive heading to Steam and the Epic Games Store and will launch on 30 January 2025.
Announced during New York Comic Con 2024, the game joins its older brothers Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered (2022) and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020) on the platform, with Nixxes Software returning to handle the development of the port. Check out the official PC announcement below:
This certainly spells good news for those eager to run the game on their beefy PC rigs, but it also comes with a catch. Specifically, the confirmation from the studio that it has “no additional story content planned for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” has dashed hopes for a long-rumoured Venom DLC.
“Collaborating with Insomniac Games and PlayStation produced a timeless Super Hero video game classic,” said Executive Producer for Marvel Games, Eric Monacelli. “Thanks to Nixxes and the support of all teams involved, players can now experience on PC with thrilling enhanced features.”
PlayStation has had a rather mixed history with its PC releases, with many of its ports, such as the recently announced Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, controversially requiring PlayStation Network (PSN) accounts to access. It remains to be seen if the single-player superhero title will also suffer from the same requirements.
