5 Video Game Soundtracks Nominated For 2025 Grammy Awards

As a testament to how the audio experience can elevate gaming to new heights, five video games have been nominated for the upcoming 2025 Grammy Awards for their exceptional soundtracks.

Here’s the list of the titles and corresponding composers who were selected for the shortlist of Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media at the 2025 Grammys, from God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla to Star Wars Outlaws.


Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was a 2023 action-adventure game developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft, following the events occurring eight years before the films. The game’s soundtrack was composed by Pinar Toprak.

God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla

Valhalla was a free content expansion to 2022’s God of War Ragnarok, offering a rogue-lite spin and serving as an epilogue to the main game. Its soundtrack was composed by Bear McCreary.


Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, follows Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they face off against Kraven the Hunter and Venom. Its soundtrack was composed by John Paesano.


Star Wars Outlaws

Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment’s 2024 adventure game Star War Outlaws was dubbed the first open-world Star Wars game and follows newcomer Kay Vess as she assembles a crew for a massive heist. The game’s soundtrack was composed by Wilbert Roget II.


Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord

Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord was a full 3D remake of the 1980 title of the same name, hailed as the first party-based role-playing video game ever released and the inspiration behind the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest series. The remake’s soundtrack was composed by Winifred Phillips.


The 2025 Grammy Awards will air on 2 February 2025 on the CBS Television Network and streamed live and on-demand on Paramount+. It also marks the event’s third iteration of featuring the music category, with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla nabbing the inaugural award in 2023 and Star Wars: Jedi Survivor in the following year.
