‘Love, Death, and Robots’ Season 4 Lands Explosive First Look, Returns May 2025

The time for more love, death, and robots is nigh. Three years after its previous outing, Netflix’s highly acclaimed anthology series Love, Death + Robots will return with Season 4 on 15 May 2024, featuring “dinosaur gladiators, messianic cats, [and] string-puppet rock stars”, per the official logline.

The announcement comes by way of an explosive, high-octane trailer that inherits its predecessor’s characteristic flair, rooted in a blend of bleeding-edge animation, horror, sci-fi, and humour. The forthcoming season includes 10 animated stories, which like before, are all done in varying art styles and tonally different storytelling — some are lighthearted and comedic, while others go full throttle on the action, showing individuals trying to survive through apocalypses.

David Fincher (Mindhunter, House of Cards), who made his directorial debut in animation with Season 3, returns as executive producer alongside series creator Tim Miller, Jennifer Miller, and Joshua Donen. Kung Fu Panda 2’s Jennifer Yuh Nelson is once again the supervising director, with Blur Studio back on the production front.

Some first-look visuals and a poster for Season 4 were also unveiled:

Premiering in 2019, Love, Death, and Robots has scored 13 Emmy Awards across 15 nominations, picking up its third consecutive win for best short-form animated programme at the latest Annies event. Each stand-alone episode features a different narrative and animation, produced by various animation studios from around the world, but is connected to one or more of the three titular concepts.

Season 4 of Love, Death, and Robots hits Netflix on 15 May.
