Calling all Tolkien fans and lovers of Middle-earth! To celebrate the release of The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim on 5 December, we’re giving 10 lucky winners the chance to own exclusive movie memorabilia.
Set 183 years before the events of Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The War of the Rohirrim delves into the rich history of Rohan. The story follows Helm Hammerhand (Brian Cox, Succession), the fiery king of Rohan, as he defends his people against an invading Dunlending army. This battle for survival eventually leads to the naming of Helm’s Deep, the legendary stronghold featured in The Two Towers.
The film also highlights the bravery of Hèra (Gaia Wise, A Walk in the Woods), Helm’s rebellious daughter, who takes up arms to protect her people. Unlike Miranda Otto’s (What Lies Beneath) Éowyn or Liv Tyler’s (Armageddon) Arwen from the original trilogy, Hèra is a complex, tomboyish figure inspired by Hayao Miyazaki’s anime heroines. Meanwhile, Wulf (Luke Pasqualino, Shadow and Bone), the human antagonist driven by revenge, brings a gritty and grounded threat to Rohan’s doorstep. With narration by Otto as Éowyn, The War of the Rohirrim promises to deliver an epic tale of courage, sacrifice, and legacy.
