LG Posé OLED TV Is A Work Of Art Posing As A TV

Stepping away from the minimalist overly-common rectangular looks of most modern smart TVs, the new LG Posé (LX1) has a design that demands to be noticed. The lifestyle TV, one part of the LG OLED Objet Collection (the other being the Easel), is set to be unveiled during this year’s Milan Design Week (7 – 12 June) — which may be an indication of the TV’s target audience.

With leg stands that remind one of Samsung’s The Serif, the Posé is not a TV that can be pushed into one innocuous side of the room. Like an art piece, it has been designed to be a centrepiece of the room it is in.

The leg stands also serve as a hidden cable management system, where messy cables go to hide and be forgotten.

The back of LG’s Posé OLED TV has a built-in pocket

It is covered in Kvadrat fabric, which gives it a premium feel, and has a unique pouch-like shelf on the back. This is probably intended as storage for magazines, albums and what-have-yous, but also as likely, dust.

The TV comes in a soothing, muted beige colour that is at odds with its design, which is meant to be an attention-seeking piece best left in the middle of the room, to be appreciated from all angles.

When not in use, Posé can be switched to Gallery mode, which then displays artwork or photos — making it your very own digital art gallery.

The screen will still have LG’s stunning 4K OLED Evo panel. This means that it’ll be powered by LG Alpha 9 Gen 5 processor, with support for Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision and HDMI 2.1. So even if the design choice doesn’t quite meet your tastes, you can still be assured that the display will hit all the high marks for visual clarity.

The Posé will be available in 42, 48 and 55-inch sizes — which can be considered an alternative LG C2 with a unique design but likely more expensive as well.

The Posé and 65-inch Easel (which forms the OLED Objet Collection) will make their debut at the Milan Design Week. Both Posé (LX1) and Easel will be launching in Europe and selected markets in the third quarter of 2022. Prices have not been announced yet, but it is probably fair to consider that these will be expensive.
