Kevin Afghani New Voice Of Mario And Luigi

Kevin Afghani Is New Voice Of Nintendo’s Mario And Luigi

At long last, the new voice behind Mario has been unveiled, and it’s none other than Kevin Afghani. The announcement came directly from Afghani himself via social media, expressing his pride in voicing Mario and Luigi in the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

This revelation follows the departure of the legendary Charles Martinet from the role, as he transitioned into a Mario ambassador back in August. Nintendo had maintained a shroud of secrecy regarding the new voice actor, teasing that the revelation would occur within the credits of Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Over time, various rumors had circulated, speculating different actors for the role. A datamined version of the game even led fans to conclude that it was Mick Wingert, who later clarified that he wasn’t the new voice behind Mario.

While Afghani may not boast an extensive list of credits — he has voiced Raditz in the Dragon Ball R&R series, and Arnold in Genshin Impact — his role as Mario is set to propel him into the spotlight.

It remains to be seen if Afghani will also voice other Mario-adjacent characters as Martinet did, like Wario and Waluigi. We’ll likely have our confirmation as WarioWare: Move It! releases later this year on 3 November 2023.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is poised for release on the Nintendo Switch on 20 October 2023.
