Now, as the series marks its eighth anniversary, media company Kadokawa is pulling out all the stops to celebrate in style with a series of special commemorative projects.
The “Eighth Anniversary Eight Major Projects” initiative promises an array of exciting events and exclusive merchandise, kicking off on 7 April 2024. Fans can look forward to the “Eighth Anniversary Commemorative Memoirs with Animate International,” where physical and online Animate stores worldwide will offer limited-time items featuring specially drawn seasonal illustrations from the series. From Halloween to New Year’s, these collectibles will showcase iconic artwork, including a glimpse at the customary April Fool’s project — the Gakuen Bungo Stray Dogs series.
The celebration continues with the “RED TOKYO TOWER Collaboration,” running from 19 April to 26 May 2024. Inspired by the anime’s Sky Casino setting, this collaboration promises a one-of-a-kind experience for fans to immerse themselves in the world of Bungo Stray Dogs.
As the year unfolds, the excitement doesn’t wane. The “Tobu Zoo Collaboration” kicks off on 13 July 2024, offering fans even more opportunities to engage with their favourite characters and settings. And on 9 August 2024, fans can indulge in the “First Avenue Tokyo Station B1 Event Space Ichiban Plaza & Hotel New Otani Collaboration,” featuring a pop-up store, exclusive merchandise, and themed hotel concept rooms.
Bungo Stray Dogs follows Nakajima Atsushi’s encounter with the enigmatic members of the Armed Detective Agency. Viewers are plunged into a world where characters wield powers inspired by famous authors and poets. Led by the eccentric Dazai Osamu and the meticulous Kunikida Doppo, the agency tackles cases that elude conventional authorities, with each character’s abilities reflecting the themes or styles of their namesakes’ works.
