Jenna Ortega Awakens Michael Keaton In Twisted ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ Trailer

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’s new trailer sees Jenna Ortega’s Astrid Deetz summon Michael Keaton’s Beetlejuice, and we get a closer look at the bio-exorcist’s antics. And even after decades, Winona Ryder’s reprisal of her iconic role as Lydia Deetz feels just as nostalgic.

The new film still keeps the original’s practical effects, a move which fans have praised, as it pays homage to its predecessor. We get a glimpse of what Beetlejuice is up to, being the disgruntled manager of an afterlife call center, and still as obsessed with Lydia as he was. There’s even a callback to the sandworm in the first movie, and we wonder if he would’ve liked Arrakis.

Astrid stumbles upon a strangely humorous advertisement in the attic, which leads to her summoning him after a heated confrontation with her mother and a tense reunion between Lydia and Beetlejuice.

“The living, the dead… can they coexist? That’s what we’re here to find out,” Lydia says, as chaos erupts through the town. We’ll soon find out as the film gets closer to its 6 September release date.
