In The Name Of The Moon, Uniqlo Will Be Releasing A New Sailor Moon UT Collection

Uniqlo has been on a roll with their collaborations with Japanese games and anime. After a great run with their Pokemon collaboration, Uniqlo is back this time with another collaboration with one of Japan’s biggest anime franchises, Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon was first released in 1991 as a manga series by Naoko Takeuchi. It soon proved to be incredibly popular amongst its female demographic and was subsequently adapted into an anime series for television, airing in more than 40 countries worldwide.

In celebration of the series’ 25th anniversary, Uniqlo will be releasing a Sailor Moon UT collection with original illustrations by Naoko Takeuchi herself. The eight designs released will feature characters such as the titular Sailor Moon Usagi Tsukino, her guardian cat Luna, and the Sailor Soldiers.

The Sailor Moon UT collection also gives some love to the supporting cast in the series, with a design depicting Princess Serenity in the loving embrace of Prince Endymion during happier times in the Moon Kingdom.

There are also nods to the franchise’s international fanbase with some t-shirts featuring a mix of English and Japanese texts.

The Sailor Moon UT collection will be released in Uniqlo stores around Singapore, and Uniqlo’s website, on August 23, 2019. Each tee will cost S$19.90.
