HoYoverse Plays With Itself For ‘Honkai Impact 3rd’ X ‘Honkai Star Rail’ Crossover

As an offshoot of Honkai Impact 3rd, it certainly makes sense that Honkai: Star Rail is getting a crossover with one of HoYoverse’s longest-running games. The upcoming crossover between both titles will go live in version 7.9 patch of Honkai Impact 3rd, with more information to be released on 19 September in a full behind-the-scenes video.

Alongside the announcement, HoYoverse also dropped a preview of the collaboration featuring both Star Rail and Honkai Impact 3rd characters, including Welt, Jingyuan, Feixiao, Tingyun, Stelle (female Trailblazer), Kiana, Himeko, Elysia, and more. It’ll be interesting to see how the stories of certain characters who exist in both universes, such as Welt, Bronya, Seele, and Natasha play out, especially with HoYoverse staff Shaoji, who worked on the two games, involved in the project.

This latest tie-up follows the announcement of a Honkai: Star Rail X Fate/Stay Night crossover, set to begin in Q3 2025. While details remain light, the initial reveal teased voice lines from Archer, seemingly hinting at guest characters heading to the turn-based RPG. If so, players can probably expect similar treatment to the Genshin Impact X Horizon Zero Dawn collaboration back in 2021, which saw a free Aloy unit added to the game.
