Version 3.0 Story Details

Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0 boasts a storyline that writers at HoYoverse have boldly proclaimed to be the “greatest story in HSR so far”, promising an epic, emotional journey filled with unexpected twists.
Leaving the mysteries of Penacony behind, Version 3.0 introduces players to the world of Amphoreus, which will be the stage for the longest story arc in Honkai: Star Rail history, dividing the Trailblaze Mission into two distinct parts. While the Trailblazer and Dan Heng find themselves embroiled in the Flame-Chase upon landing on Amphoreus and aiding the planet’s local heroes, the remaining Astral Express crew, including familiar faces like March 7th, Himeko, and Herta will be conducting their own investigations from orbit.

The Astral Express crew will join forces with the Flame-Chasers in their struggle against the Titans, leading players to confrontations with these powerful deities. Version 3.0 culminates in a showdown against Nikador, the Titan of Strife, who serves as the final boss.
New Trailblaze Mission

Again, the extensive Trailblaze Missions in Amphoreus are set to unfold in two parts across eight versions, from 3.0 to 3.7. Titled Heroic Saga of Flame-Chase, this grand story arc converges the Three Paths, with the vortex of fate greeting the arrival of the Astral Express.
To embark on this journey, the Trailblaze Mission Jarilo-VI – Silent Galaxy needs to be completed. While the new Finality’s Vision feature grants players access to current events without having to play through the story, it’s recommended to first complete the Penacony – A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn mission for a more fulfilling experience.
Beyond the main Trailblaze Mission, Version 3.0 offers several Adventure Missions to further explore the new world. Whereto Shall We Go tasks you with protecting survivors amidst a growing crisis in Okhema, unlocked through messages from Aglaea. I Once Was In Arcadia delves into the clash between conflict and romance, triggered by speaking to the NPC Iason near Kephale Plaza in Okhema. Finally, Disquieting Dream invites you to unravel the mysteries of a prophet’s haunting visions, accessible through messages from Tribbie.
New Areas

Touted as a massive region, Amphoreus surpasses even Penacony in scale. The initial maps alone reveal abundant treasures, with some regions boasting over 40 chests to uncover. Drawing inspiration from Ancient Greece and Rome, the new locale presents a visually striking environment with unique architecture, design elements, and characters.
It comprises the city-states of Okhema and Kremnos, each offering distinct architectural styles and hidden secrets to uncover. This ancient realm also introduces unique gameplay mechanics to enhance your exploration, such as ‘Oronyx’s Miracles’, which uses time and space manipulation to open up new areas and reveal hidden secrets. Additionally, the ‘Hand of Zagreus’ unlocks the ability to interact with the environment in dynamic ways, including grabbing or crushing giant objects and acting as a bridge between broken platforms.

Amphoreus is ripe with opportunities for discovery and rewards. Keep an eye out for Flying Amphorae scattered throughout the environment. Smashing these airborne vessels not only grants you valuable items, similar to destructible objects on other worlds, but also provides a temporary speed boost, allowing you to navigate the expansive maps with increased efficiency. To aid in your treasure-hunting endeavours, Version 3.0 introduces a new gadget that helps pinpoint any chests you may have missed on previous worlds, and The Herta herself lends a helping hand by marking all treasure chest locations on the map, ensuring no valuable loot has been missed out.

Spicing up the exploration experience is the ability to turn back the clock, such that broken objects can be restored to their original form or position. It’s a mechanic that will come into play in the main missions, joining other new additions and mini-puzzles like the Janus Hidden Passage, involving the use of axis rotation to reveal concealed pathways, Golden Scapegoat, which features platforming elements, and Prophecy Tablet, where fragments have to be assembled to form the displayed image.

While five regions (‘Eternal Holy City’ Okhema, ‘Bloodbathed Battlefront’ Castrum Kremnos, ‘Strife Ruins’ Castrum Kremnos, ‘Abyss of Fate’ Janusopolis, and Vortex of Genesis) are available for Version 3.0, Amphoreus will likely continue to expand with future updates, as has been the pattern with other major destinations in the game.
