‘Granblue Fantasy: Relink’ Update Brings Free Quest, Details Future Patch

The 10-year celebration for Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy franchise teased a tantalising look at future content, and its JRPG spin-off Relink is offering some of its own. Marking the game’s biggest update to date, Version 1.1.1 is now live with the addition of a new challenging quest called The Final Vision, new sigils, some extra camera and aim sensitivity settings, and more Steam trophies, among others.

The Final Vision will pit players and new ally Supreme Supreme Primarch Sandalphon against Lucilius, promising another epic, over-the-top boss battle to come. It requires The Tale of Bahumut’s Rage to be completed first, and unlocks new sigils with new traits when this new boss battle is cleared.

As for the additional camera options, camera and aim sensitivity both now have two separate settings for vertical and horizontal movement speed. Maximum sensitivity has also been increased from 10 to 20, with the camera adjusted to focus on a locked-on enemy instead of auto targeting objects like ice pillars.

The full patch notes gives a detailed lowdown on character-specific tweaks, but one notable change involves fixing a bug that prevented certain fighters from dodging right after performing an aerial barrage. While the Final Vision quest is a free add-on, the game has other paid content that includes the following:

  • Emote Expansion Set: Let’s Chat
  • Self-Improvement Pack 1
  • Weapon Uncap Items Pack 1
  • Weapon Upgrade Items Pack 1
  • Sigil Upgrade Items Pack 1

When April rolls around, Version 1.2.0 will kick off with two new playable characters, Seofon and Tweyen, before Sandalphon joins the roster in Version 1.3.0. The latter update is bound for Granblue Fantasy: Relink in May.

Not much else is known about the future updates, but Cygames has shared that the much-requested mass Sigil transmutation feature is currently being worked on. “But that’s not all — mass sigil transmutation and updated key binding options are currently in the works for a future update!,” reads the official announcement post on X / Twitter.

Small as it may be, the quality-of-life improvement will certainly be welcome. As the game only allows players transmute one Sigil at a time (for now), the process can become very time-consuming in the endgame stages.

In a year of JRPG heavyweights, Granblue Fantasy: Relink has proven to be a sleeper hit — and the stream of upcoming content certainly doesn’t hurt, ensuring that fans are, in colloquial terms, eating well. Very well, in fact.
