Imagine having the power to control what happens in the world simply by stringing a words into a story.
Director Lu Yang’s epic Chinese blockbuster A Writer’s Odyssey tells the story of Kongwen Lu who is an author of a fantasy novel series. In his novel, Lu writes about a heroic teenager on a quest to end a demon god’s tyrannical rule. Through a strange twist of fate, the fantasy world of the novel begins to impact life in the real world.
The trailer sees the interesting combination of the medieval wuxia genre with a modern sci-fi twist as well as the thrilling chase to kill the author before the world descends into further chaos due to his writings.
Starring Dong Zijian, Lei Jiayin, Yang Mi, Yu Hewei, Guo Jingfei and Tony Liya, A Writer’s Odyssey premieres in theatres 12 February 2021.
