Geek’s Guide To The Best Wireless Mop And Floor Cleaner

Wireless vacuum cleaners are pretty much the norm these days. Compact, lightweight and easy to use – which is why the next step in home cleaning is actually a wireless device ideal for mopping the floor. Geek Culture had a chance to check out three such devices, all within the S$700 price range.

Surprisingly, adding water to a vacuum takes a little bit of skill, and not all wireless mops were made equal.

Why get a Wireless and Electronic Mop

Mopping the floor at home is laborious and time-consuming. Not only do you have to lug the pail and mop around the house, double-dipping into a pail of dirty water repeatedly might not clean the floors as well as you’d like.

A wireless mop holds the water, offers one-hand use and is easy to clean. Between the Karcher FC5 Cordless Premium Cleaner, Philips SpeedPro Max Aqua and Hizero F801 4-in-1 Bionic Mop, your floors will be cleaned in no time.

How we tested each device

All devices were tested in a 90 square meter apartment on hardwood and tile surfaces. When it comes to the Karcher FC5, the wireless mop was able to apply just the right amount of liquid when it came to cleaning the floor itself.

By the time you are actually done with the cleaning process, you would go back to clean and dry floors right at the very beginning. The buffing mechanism the Karcher FC5 does extremely well and your bare feet will definitely know the difference especially when compared to the Philips SpeedPro Max Aqua and the Hizero F801 4-in-1 Bionic Mop.

If you’re looking for a more competent home cleaner, the Hizero F801 4-in-1 Bionic Mop is the better choice as it is able to pick up larger pieces of dirt on the floor while mopping to a good degree.

Operation

When it comes to battery life all devices actually performed similarly well.

Amongst the three, when it came to the mopping ability overall, the Karcher FC5 did the best once again.

The weight distribution of the Karcher FC5 was the most balanced but not the lightest to operate.

There is a relatively good tug when the device is in operation which might be tricky for the youngest member of the household to operate.

Refilling and disposing of the clean and dirty tanks were easy when it comes to the Karcher FC5.

Although if you are looking to clean up the floors with much larger dirt debris, the Hizero F801 4-in-1 Bionic Mop does better overall with its mopping function. The big issue is its small clean water tank. Due to its small size which, in real life, clean in the space of 35 – 45 square meters before needing a refill. This could also mean having to walk over still moist floors to do so.

Philips SpeedPro Max Aqua

The Philips SpeedPro Max Aqua, is more vacuum than mop with its “mop” function no more than a mere cloth attached to the device.

Of the lot, the Karcher FC5 is able to complete its task easily in one go.

Clean up and maintenance

When it comes to how easy it is to clean and maintain, the Karcher FC5 is the best overall.

With only two general parts to clean overall with the squeegee and buffing rollers, there’s little fuss apart from the clean and dirty water tanks.

The good part of the Karcher FC5 would be its buffing rollers because they are easily removed and can be cleaned quickly in the sink.

The Philips SpeedPro Max Aqua and Hizero F801 4-in-1 Bionic Mop devices are good when it comes to separating dry dirt to be disposed of.

Clean up wise, the Hizero F801 4-in-1 Bionic Mop comes a close second to the Karcher FC5.

Concluding thoughts

In terms of the best device to actually replace the traditional mop and bucket, the Karcher FC5 is the best wireless mop right now in the market.

If you are looking for a hybrid device, the Philips SpeedPro Max Aqua and Hizero F801 4-in-1 Bionic Mop come in close but have big differences. The Philips SpeedPro Max Aqua functions better as a vacuum cleaner but does not fare as well in terms of a wet mop. The Hizero F801 4-in-1 Bionic Mop is able to clean up larger pieces of debris on the floor but stumbles because of its small clean water tank.
