BEST REMAKE/REMASTER GAME: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Everyone knew that part two of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII remake, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth would be huge, but no one was prepared for just how expansive it would be. Like its 2020 predecessor, it not only revitalises the game’s graphics with the power of Unreal Engine 4 but also improves upon certain aspects such as its combat, which saw an enormous boost in depth thanks to new characters like Red XIII, Yuffie and Cait Sith each offering their own unique battle mechanics. Most importantly, however, it provided an almost complete rehaul of its open world, offering a plethora of engaging side content and opportunities to deepen companion relationships never before seen in the original, making it not only a faithful adaptation but the best way to enjoy the 1997 classic.
