When Samsung first launched its line of foldable phones in 2019, it changed the future of smartphones forever. Five years later, and the Korean tech brand continue to dominate the foldable phone market with its Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5.
Many iterations have come and gone, some versions improved while others remained the same but the latest Z Fold 5 addresses major concerns that many users had over the years. The phone now feature a zero degrees gap hinge, meaning when you open up the 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED screen, there’s almost no noticeable crease in the middle of it.
Measuring at 129.9mm x 154.9mm x 6.1mm when opened and 67.1mm x 154.9mm x 13.4mm when closed, the phone slips nicely into pockets and doesn’t appear too bulky. Equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, the Z Fold 5 has similar specs to Samsung’s flagship phones.
Plus, it’s got an improved camera that makes colours on your face, the surroundings and portraits of your friends and family vibrant. Compared to the Z Flip 5, this is the phone to get for content consumption.
Check out the video review above as we delve into the details of the Z Fold 5, what we love about it, camera and video quality tests and what improvements we hope to see in future Fold models.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is available in cream and phantom black. It retails from S$2,398 for 256GB, S$2,578 for 512GB and S$2,938 for 1TB.
