First ‘Evil Dead Burn’ Teaser Ramps Up One-Shot Deadite Chaos

Ever since a lonely cabin and a battered tape recorder first unleashed chaos in The Evil Dead, the franchise has thrived on turning intimate spaces into arenas of pure torment. Now, Evil Dead Burn is dragging that same terror back into a home once again, with a newly released teaser offering a first, unsettling glimpse at the next chapter.

While the teaser keeps its cards close to its chest, familiar patterns begin to emerge: Deadites return, and they’re once again confined to an isolated setting where escape feels impossible. That approach marks a shift back toward the franchise’s roots, steering away from the high-rise setting of Evil Dead Rise and into something more enclosed, more suffocating. Objects fall, bodies thrash, and a woman crawls desperately through the wreckage, suggesting that whatever evil has been summoned is already well underway.

The synopsis reads as follows:

Evil Dead Burn unleashes the franchise’s most savage and terrifying ride to date, blazing onto big screens with an all-new chapter of carnage and demonic mayhem. After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home. As one by one they are transformed into Deadites — turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell — she comes to discover that the vows she took in life… live on even in death.

Sébastien Vaniček directs the film, following his debut feature Infested. Here, he steps into a legacy shaped by Sam Raimi. Raimi later returned as a guiding force for subsequent entries, including the 2013 reboot and the television continuation Ash vs. Evil Dead. That influence continues to ripple through the franchise, with Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise in 2023 reigniting interest and paving the way for multiple new instalments, including the upcoming Evil Dead Wrath. Cast members include Souheila Yacoub, Tandi Wright, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Errol Shand, Maude Davey, George Pullar, and Greta Van Den Brink.

The teaser does what it needs to do: remind audiences that Evil Dead thrives on simplicity twisted into something unbearable – a house, a handful of people, and a force that refuses to be contained. No elaborate mythology is required when the formula already works this well. Come July, that formula returns once again, ready to turn another home into a place no one walks out of unchanged.

Evil Dead Burn crawls into cinemas on 10 July 2026.
