‘Evil Dead Burn’ Sequel Wraps Filming With Brutally Violent Teaser

Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise breathed new life into the horror franchise in 2023, and the franchise’s next entry, Evil Dead Burn, looks set to honour its tradition of gore. After wrapping production on the forthcoming film, director Sébastien Vaniček shared a brief teaser on social media that offered a first look at the brutality to come.

In it, a character is seen repeatedly slamming a bloody metal object, seemingly resembling a stove-top of sorts, into something or someone (a Deadite?), while letting out blood-curdling shrieks. The clip then cuts to black a few more hits later, with the shouting and pummelling sounds lingering in the background and leaving the aftermath to the viewer’s imagination.

The next image in the Instagram post is way more wholesome, showing Vaniček sharing a hug with lead star Souheila Yacoub (Dune: Part Two). Not much else is known about the project, but it won’t be connected to the 2023 sequel or the rest of the film series started by Sam Raimi in his directorial debut. Previously, the filmmaker also laid out his vision for the film to French outlet Konbini, saying:

“I told the studio that I wanted to make a nasty film, a film that hurts, from which you come away tested. I’m going to put all the horror I have inside, it will be cathartic, and if I haven’t ruined my career and I can continue to make films behind it, I will move on to something other than horror!”

As previously reported, Yacoub will be joined by Hunter Doohan (Wednesday), Luciane Buchanan (Chief of War), and Tandi Wright (Pearl). Vaniček penned the script alongside Infested co-writer Florent Bernard, while Raimi and franchise producer Rob Tapert serve as producers. Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell is poised to executive produce with Cronin, Romel Adam, and Jose Canas, both of whom had worked on Evil Dead Rise.

Evil Dead Burn splatters across cinema screens on 24 July 2026. It serves as the sixth instalment of the film franchise, followed by another project written and directed by Francis Galluppi, which is currently in development.
