Everything You Missed In The Latest Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer

Marvel sure loves their surprises, and with the latest Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer dropping even more hints about one of the biggest holiday movies ever, there is simply too much to wrap our heads around.

That said, we are going to try and explore all the various references, potential setups, and much more in the 3-minute long trailer. Be sure to let us know in the comments if we missed any as well, it is always teamwork that makes the dream work. Time to dive in!

Spider-Man Suits

We know that Peter Parker has had plenty of suits over the years, and the new Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer is adding to Aunt May’s laundry load.

There is the black and gold suit, which looks like something out of Wakanda, as well as a later variant that seems to possess some magical powers ala Dr Strange. The instantly reconstructed suit seen in other trailers is also a great addition to the list.

Multi-verse Hijinks

Following the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, we see Peter and his loved ones now living in a world where his secret identity is now known. However, he has more to fear than just plain old J. Jonah Jameson. The messed up Dr Strange spell has invited villains from all over Parker’s history, and we now see several of them in action.

The obvious one is Dr. Otto Octavius, who shows his origins by not recognising this Peter Parker as his Peter Parker. More importantly, there are scenes that show him actually talking to the good guys, so he might be getting a shot at redemption here.

Jamie Foxx also returns as Electro, but without the blue. This around, he seems to be in more military garb, although we do get to see a nice reference to the classic comic costume with some nifty electricity effects.

William Defoe’s Green Goblin is also back, although we still do not know if it’s him under the mask. The trademark flyer and those bombs sure bring us back to the nostalgic past. There is also a similar character shown in the trailer, which could be Dane DeHaan’s Green Goblin, or even Ned finally embracing his role as Hobgoblin.

Take a breath, it is not over. Sandman is back too, making his first official appearance since Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man 3, and alongside him is Dr Curtis Connors aka Lizard, leaping into the fray towards something that does not appear to be Spider-Man.

The Holy Trinity

That brings us to the big question, with so many villains coming from all over the multiverse, are we expecting to see multiple Spider-Man/Men as well? The fans certainly want it, but there is no official word from Marvel or the actors, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

We see the big fight taking place in an area with plenty of scaffolding which could mean the above shot still hold weight.

In addition, certain elements could be hinting at their return outside of what we have seen or heard.

Dr Strange’s proclamation that all of the villains die fighting Spider-Man could see multiple web slingers trying to prevent that from happening, or making that come true. Dr Ock’s realisation could also be a huge hint that we will see the return of the other Spider-Man.

There is also a scene where we see Zendaya’s MJ falling out of a building, similar to Gwen Stacy. We might believe that it is Tom Holland’s Spider-Man leaping out to save her, or this could be Andrew Garfield’s chance to right the wrong from his past as the webhead.

Lastly, there are apparently Spider-Man: No Way Home trailers that show Lizard getting punched by an invisible force in the final scenes. Is this editing magic at work removing another Spider-Man? Even without the force punch, it also makes little sense for the villain to be leaping towards a target that is not the incoming Spider-Man.

The plot thickens.

City of Heroes

The set-piece of the Statue of Liberty has also had a facelift, with the honouring of Captain America at its core. We see a giant shield at the top, as well as a poster commemorating the First Avenger. It does not take long to have that shield tumbling down, but it is nice to see Steve Rogers get his day as well.

Speaking of which, where are the rest of the Avengers outside of Dr Strange? Seeing that this is a crisis of great magnitude, perhaps they have other problems to deal with, the new phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is only going to get wilder.

That’s all we could spot in the latest Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, did your sharp eyes or keen knowledge discover anything else? Be sure to let us know and we can come together to solve this mystery ahead of the movie’s launch.

Until then, we can continue hoping for everything we want before Spider-Man: No Way Home starts showing in theatres on 17 December 2021.
