These unprecedented times of COVID-19 have caused much uncertainty in the events industry, with many turning to the online space for digital streams, and others regrettably called off. That’s not stopping Singapore’s very own LEGO convention EnBlock 2020 from celebrating the spirit of brick-building, as it returns in the form of a free-for-all static display at Funan Mall.
The team, which hosted free virtual tours for stay-home enthusiasts earlier this year, will put out more than 200 models and dioramas on display across various locations in the mall. Set to run from 17 July to 10 August 2020, the open-to-public showcase allows visitors to browse freely while shopping or moving around, and may be found in the following spots:
- Level 1 Main Atrium
- Level 1 North Bridge Road Entrance
- Level 2 Tree of Life Glass Pod #02-K10 and #02-K04
- Level 2 VW Red Camper Van opposite #02-14
- Level 3M – Mazzanine Level Atrium space mid level between Level 3 and 4, Tree of Life Experiential Space
During EnBlock’s LEGO virtual tours in April, there was a lot of spectacular builds up for show, ranging from fairytale-themed creations to near-replicas of popular Disney elements. The mall showcase promises even more creativity and brick glory, bringing to life military vehicles, famous pop culture figures (Iron Giant, Iron Man, Baby Yoda, etc), Gunpla builds, and a whole host of original MOCs, including a quirky, nostalgic retro Singapore set. Check out some of them below, a handful of which are skillfully crafted by LEGO MOC hobbyists who have appeared in our Geek Spotlight articles, where their other creations are also housed –
Here’s to a bigger, grander event stage next year!
