‘Delicious in Dungeon’ Cooks Up 2nd Cour Trailer And Poster

Spicing up the fantasy role-playing flair with a culinary touch, the Delicious in Dungeon (Dungeon Meshi in Japanese) anime has quickly captured the hearts of viewers. It’s certainly good news that the feel-good series will return very soon, and a new poster-trailer combo gives fans an extended look at what’s to come.

In the wake of its first season finale, a third trailer for the upcoming cour was released, featuring the new opening theme by sumika and ending song by Regal Lily. The main quartet of Laios (Kentaro Kumagai), Marcille (Sayaka Senbongi), Senshi (Hiroshi Naka), and Chilchuck (Asuna Tomari) are back, alongside some new faces that include Thistle (Yu Kobayashi), Hien (Arisa Shida), Maizuru (Yoko Hikasa), Izutsumi (Mitsuho Kambe), Benichidori (Akari Kito), and Inutade (Yoshino Furuya).

Accompanying the trailer release is a new key visual that assembles the party, with an official post on X / Twitter announcing an April 2024 release for the second cour.

Delicious in Dungeon debuted 4 January on Netflix, and is set to run for 24 episodes over two consecutive cours (used to describe the span of anime episodes during their initial Japanese TV broadcast). Studio Trigger will return to animate the show, which is adapted from Ryoko Kui’s manga of the same name.

The synopsis for the series reads:

“When young adventurer Laios and his company are attacked and soundly thrashed by a dragon deep in a dungeon, the party loses all its money and provisions…and a member! They’re eager to go back and save her, but there is just one problem: If they set out with no food or coin to speak of, they’re sure to starve on the way! But Laios comes up with a brilliant idea: ‘Let’s eat the monsters!’ Slimes, basilisks, and even dragons…none are safe from the appetites of these dungeon-crawling gourmands!”
