Captain America Sequel Will Finally Address ‘Eternals’, Reveal Source of MCU Adamantium

Set to release on 14 February 2025, Captain America: Brave New World promises to tie up one of the most lingering questions left by Eternals: What’s up with that giant celestial sticking out of the ocean?

During Marvel Studios’ Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, attendees were treated to a sneak peek at the upcoming film. The footage revealed that the next Marvel film will tackle the unresolved issue of Tiamut. If you forgot, that’s the Celestial whose body has been protruding from the Indian Ocean since 2021’s Eternals.

In She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, this topic was briefly touched upon. While scrolling through a job board, Jen Walters, aka She-Hulk, saw an article titled, “Why there is a giant statue of a man sticking out of the ocean”. This humorous nod now finds its resolution in the new Captain America film.

The scene shown at Comic-Con depicts President Ross holding a ‘Celestial Island Summit’ to discuss the discovery of Adamantium — a rare, indestructible metal found within Tiamut’s remains. This revelation ties back to the Eternals’ storyline. It also potentially connects to the mutant Wolverine, whose skeleton is famously bonded with Adamantium. This is especially significant due to the recent events revealed in Deadpool & Wolverine, currently showing in theatres.

With the MCU consistently weaving complex narratives across films and TV shows, Captain America: Brave New World promises to be a crucial piece in understanding the broader Marvel universe.
