The DC universe is always expanding with new heroes and villains waiting to tell their stories. From The Suicide Squad‘s Peacemaker to the highly anticipated Black Adam movie, the upcoming Blue Beetle movie is leaping to screen, and not just any screen, the big screen.
Initially set to release on HBO Max, Blue Beetle is moving to theatres and is set to release on 18 August 2023. Taking on the titular role as Blue Beetle is Xolo Maridueña. Maridueña is best known for his leading role as Miguel Diaz on Netflix’s Cobra Kai.
Although no trailer has been released, a first look at the hero’s costume design was revealed earlier in October during DC FanDome.
The movie will be directed by Angel Manuel Soto and is the first live-action Latinx-fronted superhero movie from Latinx filmmakers.
