Blizzard President J. Allen Brack Apologises For Blitzchung Debacle

Blizzcon is Blizzard’s annual fan event where big announcements are made and it’s a carnival-like atmosphere is a spectacle for all to witness.

However, Blizzard’s recent missteps when it comes to Hong Kong have come under fire.

Since then, there has been a pall over the entire company. But on the first day of Blizzcon 2019, the company appears to be taking remedial steps to address that.

“Blizzard had the opportunity to bring the world together in a tough Hearthstone esports moment about a month ago and we did not,” as Brack sombrely addressed the crowd.

“We moved too quickly in our decision-making and then, to make matters worse, we were too slow to talk with all of you,” continued Brack. “We didn’t live up to the high standards that we really set for ourselves.”

Brack added: “I’m sorry and I accept accountability,” he said.

It was good that Blizzard tackled the issue right from the start but it might be a little too late for the company in some quarters.

Only time will tell how they will fare in the coming months ahead. But as we all know time (and good games) will heal all grievances.

Sadly, the issues in Hong Kong still remain unresolved.
