LEGO sets are often more impressive than not, and the trend only continues with the company’s biggest Marvel set to date. Enter the 76178 Daily Bugle, LEGO’s massive 3,772-piece tribute to the beloved Spider-Man series that also features hitherto the most number of minifigures (or minifigs, for short).
Standing at a whopping 82 cm, the set ships with plenty of detail and interactive elements in tow, such as breakaway walls, a full glass window interior, and dedicated modular spaces with their own furnishings and decorations. The walls, alongside each individual floor, can be removed to access the offices of J. Jonah Jameson, Peter Parker, and more.
Additionally crowned the most character-heavy kit, the Spidey-themed pack boasts a total of 25 minifigs, with Daredevil and Blade making their official debut. Joining the duo is Spider-Man, Spider-Ham, Spider-Gwen, Miles Morales, Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, Aunt May, J. Jonah Jameson, Ben Urich, Robbie Robertson, Betty Brant, Black Cat, Punisher, Fire Star, Green Goblin, Venom, Carnage, Mysterio, Sandman, Doctor Octopus, Ron Barney, Bernie the Cab Driver, and Amber Grant.
It’s a really long list – one that certainly impresses with the inclusion of side characters to beat the previous record held by the LEGO Star Wars Death Star set, which features 23 minifigs. The designs are less generic here, too, which is a huge plus.
The 76178 Daily Bugle will be available for VIP members on 26 May 2021 ahead of its wider launch for the public on 1 June. A retail price of US$299.99 is expected on the official website and in LEGO Stores, with pricing details for Singapore yet to be announced.
