‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Multiplayer Fighting Game Set For 2025

Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony, but everything will soon change with a new Avatar: The Last Airbender competitive multiplayer brawler in the works. A collaboration between Maximum Entertainment and Paramount Game Studio, it was unveiled during the former’s presentation of its 2024 lineup, with an open beta and expected release slated for 2025.

“We are thrilled to announced that we have entered into a partnership with Paramount Consumer Products to develop a competitive multiplayer fighting game set in Avatar: The Last Airbender universe,” said CEO Christina Seelye. “This competitive fighting game is set to release into early access in 2025. We are thrilled to be bringing this project to life and we will have so much more to share on this game in the future.”

Avatar: The Last Airbender — Quest for Balance

Despite its popularity and successful across various media, Avatar: The Last Airbender hasn’t had any luck with its video games yet. The latest addition, Quest for Balance, launched last year to negative reviews, coming out a little less than 10 years after Platinum Games’ equally disappointing beat ’em up title based on The Legend of Korra sequel series.

Elsewhere though, the franchise’s future is looking bright. Apart from a forthcoming live-action show from Netflix, development on a Zuko-centric animated movie is underway, with Avatar Studios announcing plans to expand on its lore through new films and a new TV series set in the worlds of both The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.
