Clash Of The Laptop Titans: ASUS Zenbook Pro 16X OLED Vs. Apple MacBook Pro M2 Max

It’s every creative professional’s dream to own a lightweight yet powerful device, providing the ability to perform amazing tasks while on the movie. Most creatives will point towards Apple in this regard, as the company that never stops giving continues to improve its laptop line-up with impressive hardware, and the American company continues to dominate the scene with its MacBook series, offering a niche option amid an oversaturated market of Windows alternatives.

But that’s not to say they are the only leader in the hardware aspect serving content creators across the segment. Taiwanese tech leader ASUS is one of the more prominent and familiar names that have carved out an expertise in developing hardware for content creation, thanks to its Zenbook range of laptops. The Zenbook Pro 16X OLED (UX7602) seeks to carry on the tradition, as it brings upgraded hardware and OLED prowess to the field — and then some.

Going toe-to-toe with the system-on-chip (SoC) architecture on the Apple MacBook Pro M2 Max is ASUS’ new system-on-module technology, otherwise known as SoM. A quick look under the hood reveals other specifications, such as a 12th Gen Intel Core i9 processor, a NIVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 GPU, 32GB of RAM, and 2TB of storage.

The 16-inch Apple MacBook Pro M2 Max, meanwhile, sports the company’s latest M2 chipset that has eclipsed the performance of Intel processors, a 12-core CPU, 32GB of unified memory, and 2TB of SSD, which puts it on near equal footing with its Windows counterpart.

To find out if both builds will indeed have similar performance in real-world scenarios, the laptops were pitted against each other in an 8K rendering test, where the victor quickly made itself known.
