‘Astro Bot’ Credits Hint At Potential DLC Characters From ‘Assassin’s Creed’, ‘Stellar Blade’ & More

Team Asobi’s Astro Bot is set to receive free DLC later this year, adding new levels, features, and most importantly, more VIP bots. Although information on the new characters has yet to be revealed, the game’s credits might hint towards things to come.

Astro Bot DLC

Speaking to Quest Daily, studio president Nicolas Doucet shared that the upcoming expansion will be small in scale and focused on speedruns, a popular feature in the original Astro’s Playroom. The DLC will mainly feature more challenging levels, but the team is still considering adding content with a “toy feeling” to suit more casual players.

On the subject of adding new bots, Doucet confirmed that “some characters that (the team) didn’t include yet will appear”, and while no confirmation was given on the specifics, the game’s end credits do give hints as to which game franchises might debut their characters in bot form.

During the credits scene, thanks were given to various third-party publishers for the use of their characters, despite some being currently absent from the game. These include Shift Up’s Stellar Blade; Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed, Rayman, and Beyond Good & Evil; Koei Tecmo’s Rise of the Ronin, and Argonaut Software’s Croc.

In addition, other characters were also spotted in concept art for the game, including Titan Studio’s Fat Princess and Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal. Here’s hoping that some, if not all of these characters eventually make their way to the Astro Bot Family.
