As Nintendo Switch Prices Soar, Singapore Video Game Retailer Qisahn Donates S$25,000 To The Children’s Society

In some countries, staying indoors and at home is mandatory. It’s all part of society’s effort to battle COVID-19.

This means that while some businesses are impacted (like food and beverage establishments), some are seeing a spike in demand. One of those businesses is online retail, especially video games, which has seen great demand for games and consoles.

A Nintendo Switch, which could have been bought as low as S$189 during a sale, is now going for close to S$700 for the regular console.

This is definitely not normal, and we as gamers know it. Despite that, Qisahn tells us that consoles are still moving off the shelves at rates seen during Christmas time.

In light of this, Qisahn and their staff have been working tirelessly to fulfill orders. At the same time, they’ve pooled together a donation to the Children’s Society of S$25,000 consisting of contributions from the company and the store staff as well.

To us, this effort is clear. There are plenty of folks out there who have the means to stay home and get by these times in relative comfort. This means there are even more out there who might not enjoy the same benefits.

Today, I’ll like to announce a $25,000 donation to Singapore Children’s Society. This money is from the company and all staff of Qisahn.com. The team has put in a lot of personal time and energy to keep up with the increased sales. Video games have always appealed to the young at heart but not every child is lucky enough to have access to gaming. We believe Singapore Children’s Society is in a good position to use this money to bring relief and happiness to children in need.

Soon Qishan, Owner of Qisahn.com

If you’re, looking to give back during this time of need, do consider giving to your local charity. Or if you’re from Singapore, you can make a donation to the Children’s Society as well.
