Versatility is always a plus in any industry, so it was only natural for computer hardware company Aftershock PC to dip its toes into the ultraportable market in 2019 with the Lunar 14. Two years on, the laptop will be getting an upgrade in the form of the Lunar Z14, which looks to be a premium model focusing on both build quality and feature-packed functionality.
Powered by the latest Intel 11th-Gen i7-11370H processor, the 14-inch ultraportable ships with an Iris Xe graphics card, as well as a lightweight magnesium chassis that weighs 1.05 kg – the same as its predecessor. The display is set to feature a 90 Hz refresh rate, WQXGA (2560 x 1600px) resolution, and 100% sRGB, with the unit’s port selection offering Thunderbolt 4, USB-C, and USB-A support. External graphics card support is also available through the Thunderbolt 4 interface, such that high-performance gaming and 3D rendering can receive a further boost if required.
Storage wise, the Lunar Z14 base unit comes packed with up to 8GB DDR4-3200MHZ RAM and 512GB of M.2 NVMe SSD storage. Battery life, meanwhile, is expected to last up to 11 hours.
The laptop will be retailing at the starting price of S$1,550 on the official product page, with the option to upgrade to a S$1,749 configuration that includes a 16GB RAM upgrade and Windows 10 Home Operating System (64-bit). A full list of the specifications may be viewed below –
