Apple is rumoured to launch its first touch-screen MacBook in late October, alongside its new iPad Mini.

According to Bloomberg’s sources, the new product launch is scheduled for the week of 26 October and will include announcements about the next line of MacBook Pro and iPads. These product lines are also said to be geared towards creative professionals, with a strong focus on easing video production, photo editing and music production.
The new MacBook Pros, which are reportedly codenamed K114 and K116, suggest that they will launch in 14 and 16-inch variants and will apparently be lighter than the current models, with OLED touch-screen displays and an iPhone-like Dynamic Island. If the rumours are true, this will mark Apple’s first MacBooks that feature a true touch-screen display, following the company’s experiment with its “Touch Bar” on MacBook Pros from 2016 to 2021.
Apple will also reportedly announce a line of MacBook Pros that retain the current design, but have M6 chips, which were introduced in the recently released Mac Mini, with the two variants codenamed J804 and J833. Finally, the new iPad Mini, code-named J510, will also include an OLED screen, and is set to see an update that shifts the front-facing camera on current iterations to the landscape side of the tablet, alongside featuring a “revamped speaker system”.

Of course, these are mere rumours for now, and thus should be taken with a grain of salt. As of now, the only confirmed upcoming Apple event will occur on 13 October and is expected to focus on smart home-focused products such as a new HomePod mini and an updated Apple TV set-top box, thanks to its “Welcome Home” tagline.
