Nothing beats owning a brand-new desktop PC, especially a beefy rig powered by the latest gaming GPUs, but what if these performance machines can also double up as a lifestyle statement, beyond the standard customisable RGB lighting? Well, brands like AFTERSHOCK PC and Zotac Gaming have teamed up to build rigs that are becoming increasingly bold with their designs, transforming setups into eye-catching pieces of art.

Australia’s AFTERSHOCK PC, the leading custom PC brand in the region, is no stranger to pushing the boundaries of what can be fit within a setup. Their in-house team of designers and engineers, ULTRA-LABS, were behind quirky builds like the Fruit Milk Series designed to look like drink cartons, and even an awe-inspiring bubble tea-themed PC, which houses not just a liquid cooling system designed to look like a bubble tea cup with swirling faux pearls, but an entire miniature bubble tea storefront.
Now, AFTERSHOCK PC Australia has decided to one-up itself again with its latest creation, as they have unveiled the world’s first heat-activated blooming cherry blossom PC, the Cherry Bloom. More than just a pretty flower, this gaming rig blurs the line between a fully functioning performance machine and a glorious work of art, housing a massive tree diorama within, complete with pink blossoms that slowly unfolds as the PC is in use.

It all began with the heat-reactive blooming system – a concept dreamt up by China-based YouTuber HTXStudio. Realising the potential of this design for use with PCs – machines that naturally generate heat while in use – AFTERSHOCK PC reinterpreted the idea as a miniature diorama that could be fitted completely within a PC tower’s chassis.
Housed inside an APNX V2 case, its panoramic glass design allows the build to feel more like an open courtyard rather than an enclosed PC, letting users fully appreciate the beauty within, which comprises a miniature courtyard diorama complete with stone and moss designs, alongside its centrepiece – a custom 3D-printed tree model that extends from floor to ceiling.

Of course, this isn’t merely a visual treat, as the gaming PC blends form with functionality. Featuring a five-fan setup and a pink open-loop cooling system to match the aesthetic of the blooming cherry blossom, the rig is powered by the Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 5080 SOLID OC White Edition, a deliberate choice not just in terms of raw power and performance, but also a visual one, with the GPU’s striking white finish and warm bronze-toned accents blending naturally with the earthy palette of the diorama.
Rounding off the build are its AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, a Gigabyte X870E Aorus PRO X3D ICE Wi-Fi 7 DDR5 motherboard, two sticks of 32GB Kingston Fury Beast RGB 6000MHz CL36 RAM, 2TB of Gen4 Lexar NQ790 M.2 NVMe storage, and a mini curved LCD screen with customisable display options, making this rig an impressive statement piece that still packs a punch.

As the cherry (pun intended) on top, AFTERSHOCK PC’s Cherry Bloom is more than just a static diorama, as the gaming PC itself becomes part of its blooming cherry blossom mechanism. As the system is in use, the heat that’s naturally generated will gradually unfold the petals of the tree’s 70 hand-painted, heat-reactive blossoms as temperatures reach 27°C, with the flowers then slowly returning to their initial closed state as they cool to 18°C. This way, the system makes use of the same thermal energy most other systems are engineered to actively dissipate into a visible part of the experience, all while maintaining efficient thermal performance.

Delivering enthusiast-level performance with a refined design, AFTERSHOCK PC’s Cherry Bloom offers the ultimate centrepiece to any gaming setup and is now available in Australia for AU$19,995 (roughly S$18,000). Check out the rig in all its blooming glory on its official product page.
