Legendary and Paramount Pictures have released another trailer for the upcoming Street Fighter movie, this time placing a stronger focus on the strained relationship between two of its leading fighters, Ryu and Ken.
The trailer kicks off by explaining the backstory behind Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken (Noah Centineo), with the pair being as close as brothers once before falling out, leading to Ryu choosing a life of seclusion while Ken chases glory, determined to get out of Ryu’s shadow by entering M. Bison’s (David Dastmalchian) World Warrior tournament. Chun-Li (Callina Liang) seeks Ryu out and informs him that Ken is in danger, which kick-starts the fighter’s journey to save his brother.
The newest trailer features a better look at some of its supporting cast, notably E. Honda (Hirooki Goto), who picks a fight with Ryu and unleashes some of his iconic moves seen in the games, like the Hundred Hand Slap and Sumo Headbutt. Elsewhere in the trailer, other familiar faces like Akuma (Roman Reigns), Guile (Cody Rhodes), Vega (Orville Peck), and Balrog (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson) also make an appearance, and it will be interesting to see how the movie gives all its fighters the proper time to shine with such a stacked cast of characters.
Directed by Kitao Sakurai (Bad Trip), the Street Fighter movie seems like it’s not shying away from the more campy aspects of its source material, going all in on the craziness and special effects, no matter how ridiculous they look in live-action. The film’s cast is rounded out by Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Eric André as Don Sauvage, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Olivier Richters as Zangief, Mel Jarnson as Cammy, Rayna Vallandingham as Juli, and Alexander Volkanovski as Joe.
Street Fighter will take to the ring on 16 October 2026.
