Zero. The answer is zero – to much surprise, Supergirl doesn’t have a mid- or post-credit scene.
Now that the grand reveal is out of the way, here’s what to expect from DC Studios‘ latest superhero pic featuring Superman’s cousin. Directed by Craig Gillespie, whose credits include I, Tonya and Cruella, from a script written by Ana Nogueira, it follows Kara Zor-El – aka Supergirl –who reluctantly joins forces with a young Ruthye Marye Knoll on a murderous quest for revenge in the wake of a tragedy. Donning the superheroine suit is House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock, joined by secondary lead Eve Ridley and an ensemble cast comprising Jason Momoa as Lobo, Matthias Schoenaerts (Krem of the Yellow Hills), David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham (Zor-El and Alura In-Ze, respectively), and of course, David Corenswet, reprising his role as the Man of Steel.

While the film is based on Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic book maxiseries, don’t expect it to be a beat-by-beat adaptation. Studio co-head James Gunn previously described Supergirl as “a space fantasy which is, like Guardians [of the Galaxy] in a way” that doesn’t follow the source material “religiously, but it has a lot of the core of that there.”
The lack of a tease and setup at the end of its 110-minute runtime is certainly unexpected, especially with confirmation that Supergirl will return for Man of Tomorrow, the sequel to Gunn’s Superman, in 2027. Per the filmmaker, she’s set to be “a major part of what we’re doing”, suggesting that the character will be a key part of the DC Universe’s (DCU) future, though the extent of her role is unclear.
