Nintendo Direct June 2026 Is Summer Game Fest’s Most-Watched Showcase

The Summer Game Fest showcase season for June has finally ended, concluding three weeks of top-notch gaming reveals comprising its main showcase, PlayStation’s State of Play, the Xbox Games Showcase, and the Nintendo Direct, with Nintendo’s showcase emerging victorious as the most-viewed of the four.

This comes courtesy of analytics company LevelUp, which compiled viewership figures across all the major gaming broadcasts between 1 and 11 June. As reported via a post on its social media page, the Nintendo Direct June 2026 saw a peak of around 3.8 million concurrent viewers, the highest of all the showcases.

These figures even beat out the Summer Game Fest main showcase, which saw a peak of 3.7 million viewers. State of Play came in at third place with 2.9 million viewers, followed by the Xbox Games Showcase at 2.2 million, and finally, the dedicated Gears of War: E-Day direct at 808.000 viewers.

Viewership for the main showcases wasn’t the only stat being compared, though, as LevelUp also compiled the total views for specific trailers, which comprised aggregated views across all detected occurrences of said trailer, including shorter trailer cuts, according to LevelUp. To this end, Nintendo once again emerged victorious, with its reveal trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake reportedly raking in 115 million views despite showing off nothing more than a cutscene of a map and a sleeping Link.

This brief trailer was apparently enough to stir hype from Nintendo’s avid fanbase, beating out far more substantial trailers, such as that of God of War Laufey (90.5 million views) and Resident Evil Veronica (70.9 million views), which sat at second and third place, respectively.

Figures aside, it’s safe to say that the Summer Game Fest was a huge win overall for all gamers, with a wide variety of titles to look forward to this year and beyond, especially an extremely crowded September 2026 period, which will see the release of multiple highly anticipated titles such as Marvel’s Wolverine (15 Sept), Control Resonant (24 Sept), Onimusha: Way of the Sword (25 Sept), and Silent Hill Townfall (24 Sept). It’s going to be a busy one for gamers worldwide, especially for their wallets.
