As Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones, Peter Dinklage knows things and has fought his fair share of monsters. But the xenomorph is a different beast altogether, and the Emmy-winning actor will soon find himself crossing paths with them.

According to Deadline, Dinklage has joined the cast of Noah Hawley’s Alien: Earth as a series regular, becoming the first newcomer to board Season 2. Details on his character are kept under wraps, with production due to begin in May at London’s Pinewood Studios, home to the original 1979 movie, Alien 3, and prequel Prometheus. No other information about the sophomore outing, including a release window or synopsis, was shared.
The first season of Alien: Earth ended on a cliffhanger after its debut on Disney+ last August, marking the first TV show in the franchise. Set two years before the events of Ridley Scott’s sci-fi thriller (for context, Romulus takes place between the first and second Alien films), it follows a crew on a deep-space research vessel named the USCSS Maginot, which crash-lands on Earth, leading them to come face-to-face with extraterrestrial threats.
Sydney Chandler (Don’t Worry Darling) leads the series as Wendy, a young hybrid capable of communicating and controlling the xenomorph, with Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille, and Moe Bar-El rounding out the cast.

Both Hawley and Scott serve as executive producers of Alien: Earth, alongside David W. Zucker, Clayton Krueger, Emilia Serrano, Bob DeLaurentis, Peter Calloway, Monica Macer, John Campisi and Simon Emanuel. The show was renewed for a second season last November and even earned praise from Sigourney Weaver, who played Ellen Ripley in the first three Alien films.
