‘Supergirl’ Trailer Sees Unlikely Team Up With Lobo To Save Krypto

Warner Bros. and DC have dropped another look at Supergirl, which sees Milly Alcock’s Kara Zor-El form an unlikely alliance with Jason Momoa‘s antihero Lobo to face off against Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts).

The three-minute-long trailer opens with a cameo by David Corenswet’s Superman, who speaks to Kara via a video call as he is worried that she won’t be able to “find her people”. Being the rebel that she is, Kara responds by saying that “home is wherever” her beloved Krypto the Superdog is.

Things soon take a dark turn when Krypto is poisoned by the movie’s big bad, Krem of the Yellow Hills, leaving Kara with only three days to save her best boy. With time of the essence, Supergirl must now form alliances, first with a young woman named Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley), whose family was killed by Krem and his goons, as well as the unhinged biker Lobo, in an effort to stop Krem and save Krypto.

As the second film in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s rebooted DC Universe after 2025’s SupermanSupergirl will shift the spotlight to Alcock’s Kara Zor-El, with the film directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira. Other cast members include David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham as Kara’s parents, Zor-El and Alura In-Ze, respectively.

Additionally, Gunn had previously stated that the film won’t be a beat-by-beat adaptation of Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic, saying that while the forthcoming adventure does pull from some of the source material, it won’t follow it “religiously”, offering more room for creative liberties.

Supergirl will take flight when it heads to theatres on 26 June 2026, with the film’s official description reading, “When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.”
