Geoff Keighley Sets 10 Dec Premiere Date For The Game Awards 2026

It might only be two months into 2026, but Geoff Keighley has given gamers something to look forward to this year, as he has set the premiere date for perhaps the year’s most anticipated gaming event, The Game Awards 2026 (TGA 2026).

Taking to social media, Keighley announced that TGA 2026 will premiere on 10 December and air from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, with more details to arrive later in the year. This announcement comes just two months after TGA 2025, which took place on 11 December 2025. Last year’s show brought a host of big reveals, such as Leon S. Kennedy’s appearance in the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem, the long-awaited reveals of Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic and Control Resonant, as well as two new Tomb Raider games, with one of them being a remake of the original title set for this year.

With it being so early in the year, it would seem that there won’t be any sort of predictions at this stage on which title would clinch the coveted Game of the Year award, but for now, one title is set to dominate the show – Rockstar’s long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6.

Set for release on 19 November, GTA 6 will likely be up for the running this year if the cutoff date for TGA 2026 nominees remains the same as last year, which was 21 November. Of course, it’s still early, and judging by the slew of delays surrounding the title, it won’t be too surprising if it gets hit with another one, delegating it to the “Most Anticipated Game” category yet again.

GTA 6 aside, the year is still filled with potential bangers such as Resident Evil Requiem, Fable or Onimusha: Way of the Sword, meaning competition this year is expected to be pretty steep, and hopefully, 2026 will bring a more balanced variety of excellent titles, and the awards won’t be dominated by one game as it did at TGA 2025.
