By the power of Grayskull, it seems Masters of the Universe fans are in for a treat! Hot on the heels of a brief look at the upcoming live-action film, Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios have released a full-length trailer featuring explosive action, modern touches, and the highly anticipated appearance of He-Man and his arch-nemesis, Skeletor.
The clip opens with a bored Adam Glenn, aka Prince Adam / He-Man (played by Nicholas Galitzine of Red, White, & Royal Blue fame), at his office cubicle as he leads the corporate life – until an unknown individual tracks down his sword. Armed with the Power Sword, he gathers his allies, which include Teela (Camila Mendes, Riverdale), Duncan / Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba, Luther), and the computer-generated Cringer, and returns to Eternia to save his home from an impressive-looking Skeletor, portrayed by Morbius and Tron: Ares star Jared Leto, as He-Man.

Based on Mattel’s classic toy line and animated series, Masters of the Universe is directed by Travis Knight (Bumblebee), with Chris Butler, Aaron Nee, Adam Nee and Dave Callaham handling the script. It also stars Morena Baccarin (Deadpool) as The Sorceress, Alison Brie (Community) as Evil-lyn, James Purefoy (The Following) as King Randor, Charlotte Riley (Peaky Blinders) as Queen Marlena, Kristen Wiig (How to Train Your Dragon) as Roboto, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson (Captain America: Brave New World) as Malcolm / Fisto, Sam C. Wilson (Deep Cover) as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson (Game of Thrones) as Goat Man, Kojo Attah (The Beekeeper) as Tri-Klops, Sasheer Zamata (Agatha All Along) as Suzie, and John Xue Zhang (The Brothers Sun) as Ram-Man.
The official poster was additionally unveiled with the tagline, “Witness how he became He-Man”:
The adventure flick will be Mattel’s second film, following the resounding success of Barbie, which became Warner Bros.’ highest-grossing domestic release and crossed US$1 billion in just 17 days. It’s not the musclebound hero’s first foray onto the silver screen, either – Dolph Lundgren previously portrayed He-Man in the 1987 live-action movie of the same title.
“After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam back to Eternia, where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor,” reads its official synopsis. “To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela and Duncan/Man-At-Arms, and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.”

Masters of the Universe is slated for theatrical release on 5 June 2026.
